Tehran: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan and Iran have stood by each other in every difficult time and today the relations between the two countries have become stronger than ever. In an exclusive interview given to Iranian media, the Prime Minister thanked the Iranian leadership and said that Iran has always supported Pakistan.
He said that Iran had offered to mediate in the dispute between Pakistan and India, which Pakistan accepted with joy, but India rejected it. The Prime Minister said that this effort by Iran is valuable for peace in the region.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan stands with Iran against Israeli atrocities in Gaza and our position in support of the Palestinian people is clear. He said that unless the issues of Kashmir and Palestine are resolved according to the aspirations of the people, lasting peace and justice in the region is not possible.
The Prime Minister said that a free trade agreement with Iran is under consideration, and it is hoped that the trade volume between the two countries will increase significantly in the next ten years. He welcomed the negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program and expressed hope for positive results.
