ISTANBUL: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, while addressing the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul, said that Israeli aggression is a serious threat to the region and global peace. He called the ongoing actions against Palestinians in Gaza a genocide and demanded an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, and he also called the Israeli attacks on Iran a violation of international law. He pointed out the growing trend of Islamophobia and stressed joint measures with the OIC to address the increase in hate crimes against Muslims. In his address, he also raised serious issues like “unlawful aggression” and water cuts against India and stressed the need to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.
Ishaq Dar said that the OIC not only has to play an effective role for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, but also legal and educational measures against Islamophobia must be formulated immediately in the light of history so that world peace remains stable.
