Budget 2025-26 Approved by National Assembly After PPP Support

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly of Pakistan has officially passed the Finance Bill 2025-26, marking the approval of the federal budget for the upcoming year.

Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, announced support for the budget after the government accepted several of their key demands. He said,

“We supported the budget because the government accepted our proposals, including increasing the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) by 20% and removing concerns over solar panels.”

Earlier, the federal cabinet also approved the Finance Bill with amendments. A cabinet meeting was held at Parliament House, where the Finance Minister gave a briefing.
