Islamabad: The leadership of Tehreek-e-Insaf has expressed serious reservations over the recent decision of the Supreme Court, saying that this is the first and most unusual decision of its kind in judicial history, which has challenged legal traditions.
While holding a news conference in Islamabad, Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Barrister Gohar said that the decision of the 13-member full court bench on the issue of reserved seats was overturned by the decision of just seven judges, which has never happened in the past.
He said that after this decision, our members are now being associated with the concept of the Sunni Ittehad Council, although the people voted in the name of PTI.
On the same occasion, PML-N leader Aqeel Malik said that the Constitution cannot be made a puppet for anyone’s personal convenience and political gain. He said that the impact of this decision on the reputation of institutions and constitutional principles will be far-reaching.
