Islamabad: The federal government has announced a substantial increase in petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) rates, adding to the financial burden on citizens already grappling with inflation.
According to the official notification, the price of petrol has been increased by PKR 8.36 per liter, bringing the new price to PKR 266.79 per liter. Similarly, high-speed diesel will now cost PKR 272.98 per liter, reflecting an increase of PKR 10.39 per liter.
This latest surge follows a previous adjustment on June 16, where petrol saw a rise of PKR 4.80 per liter and HSD by PKR 7.95 per liter.
