Lahore: Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman harshly criticized the sugar mafia and IPPs. He said that all these powerful groups are interconnected, and especially the sugar mill owners have not only done injustice to the farmers but also failed to pay the dues to the banks.
He said that when the farmer’s crop is ready, the sugar mafia deliberately does not buy at that time, and when the crop dries up and loses weight, then they buy at a low price. Due to this process, the farmer suffers financial losses.
Hafiz Naeem also criticized the Senate elections and said that people with real mandates are left behind while those who buy seats through transactions worth billions of rupees are ahead. According to him, almost all political parties are involved in this process.
Announcing support for the ongoing Awami Tehreek in Balochistan, he said that the Jamaat-e-Islami talks about the rights of every nation.
