Punjab government releases Rs 10.2 billion to WASA Lahore

Lahore: The Punjab government has taken a big step to improve Lahore’s infrastructure and has released Rs 10.2 billion to WASA Lahore. These funds have been allocated for ongoing development projects in different zones under the Lahore Development Project.

This amount was officially allocated after the approval of the Finance Department, in which Rs 1 billion has been provided to different areas of the city per zone. The main objective of these funds is to improve and modernize the water supply, drainage and sanitation system in the city.

According to officials, the funds released will be used to build new water tanks, while WASA will also purchase modern machinery to improve the sanitation system.

Furthermore, the Finance Department has sent a letter to the Accountant General’s Office for the transfer of funds, after which WASA has been allowed to complete pending construction works and purchase necessary equipment.
