Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a major relief package for the economically weaker section and has announced the provision of electric rickshaws and loaders to unemployed people. Along with this, students who have shown outstanding performance in the field of education will be given electric bikes.

This announcement came during an important meeting held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister regarding electric vehicles, where he was given a detailed briefing on the local production, availability, and government support of electric vehicles.

Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister said that

“The promotion of electric vehicles can save billions of dollars in foreign exchange on fuel, and it will also promote environmental protection and local industry.”

PM Shahbaz Sharif directed that

Unemployed people should be given rickshaws and loaders on a priority basis.

Electric bikes should be provided to top position holders of educational boards.

A transparent procedure for the electric vehicle scheme should be ensured, and third-party validation should be done.

A public awareness campaign should be launched so that the maximum number of people can benefit from this facility.

The best quality and safety features of vehicles should be ensured.

The Prime Minister further said that the government will develop a complete ecosystem that will not only help in the production of electric vehicles but also in their repair and provision of facilities.

This initiative will not only help in providing employment to unemployed youth but will also usher in a new era of green transportation in the country.
