Lahore: The Meteorological Department has predicted a more dangerous wave after heavy monsoon rains across the country. From July 20 to July 25, various parts of the country, including Punjab, are at risk of heavy rains, winds, and flash floods.
According to the Meteorological Department, most of the districts of Punjab will be engulfed in severe weather, while rescue operations are already underway in many areas. Emergency services are busy evacuating people under rubble and moving citizens trapped in water to a safe location.
According to the latest report, seven more people were killed yesterday, while more than 180 people were rescued and transported to safer places.
The PDMA says that there is a high level of floods in the Kala Bagh and Chashma places in the Indus River, which has posed a serious threat to the nearby areas.
The government of Punjab has issued a high alert to all the districts, and all institutions, including Rescue 1122, Health, Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, have been mobilized for emergency operations.
The public has been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from rivers, and contact rescue agencies immediately in case of any emergency.
