As the sun rises this Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Muslims across Pakistan observe the 6th fast of Ramadan 1447 AH. We are now past the halfway mark of the Ashra of Rahmah (Ten Days of Mercy). In mosques from the Khyber Pass to the shores of Karachi, the atmosphere is thick with the scent of rose water and the melodic echoes of Quranic recitation.

Today’s Fasting Schedule: Feb 24, 2026

Fasting durations this year remain comfortably manageable, hovering around 12 hours and 45 minutes as we transition from winter to spring.

CitySehar (Ends)Iftar (Starts)
Lahore05:14 AM05:58 PM
Karachi05:42 AM06:33 PM
Islamabad05:19 AM06:01 PM
Rawalpindi05:20 AM06:00 PM
Peshawar05:25 AM06:07 PM
Quetta05:44 AM06:33 PM

Note: Shias (Fiqa-e-Jafria) should generally observe Sehar 10 minutes earlier and Iftar 10 minutes later than the timings above.

The 6th Day: A Call to Inner Reflection

The 6th of Ramadan is traditionally a day where the “routine” of the holy month sets in. The initial exhaustion of the first few days has faded, replaced by a spiritual “second wind”. Scholars often remind us that the first Ashra is about seeking Allah’s mercy not just for ourselves but for our neighbours.

In major cities like Lahore and Faisalabad, community dastarkhwans (public Iftar spreads) are now in full swing, embodying the Prophetic tradition of feeding the fasting person.

Weather and City Vibes

The weather across Pakistan today remains pleasant. Islamabad and the upper regions are enjoying a cool spring breeze, making the final hour before Iftar a perfect time for Dhikr (remembrance) in local parks or balconies. In Karachi, the humidity is beginning to climb, so residents are advised to prioritise hydration during the non-fasting hours.
