Islamic Date Today in Pakistan
The Islamic date is based on the lunar calendar, which follows the phases of the moon. It plays an important role in determining religious events such as Ramadan, Eid, and Hajj. In Pakistan, the Islamic date is especially significant as it is often confirmed through moon sighting, influencing religious practices and daily life across the country.

Importance of Islamic Months
1. Muharram
The first month of the Hijri year and one of the sacred months. Ashura is especially significant for fasting and reflection.
Hadith: Sahih Muslim 1162 — Fasting on the day of Ashura expiates the sins of the previous year.
2. Safar
A regular month for worship. Islam clearly rejects superstitions and bad omens associated with Safar.
Hadith: Sahih al-Bukhari 5757 — “There is no Safar (bad omen in the month of Safar).”
3. Rabi ul Awwal
A month linked with the blessed Seerah and noble character of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Hadith: Sahih Muslim 408 — Increase sending blessings (Salawat) upon the Prophet ﷺ.
4. Rabi ul Thani
A month to continue regular worship, prayer, and strengthening good character.
Hadith: Sahih al-Bukhari 6464 — The most beloved deeds to Allah are those done consistently.
5. Jumada al Awwal
A time to remain steadfast in faith and continue daily worship practices.
Hadith: Sahih Muslim 2818 — Remain firm in remembrance and prayer.
6. Jumada al Thani
A month for self-accountability and preparing spiritually for the sacred months ahead.
Hadith: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2459 — Take account of yourselves before you are taken to account.
7. Rajab
One of the sacred months. A time for repentance, dua, and increased voluntary worship.
Hadith: Sunan Abi Dawud 2428 — Sacred months hold special spiritual value.
8. Shaban
The month before Ramadan, often used as preparation through fasting and worship.
Hadith: Sahih al-Bukhari 1969 — The Prophet ﷺ fasted most of Shaban.
9. Ramadan
The holiest month in Islam and the month of obligatory fasting.
Hadith: Sahih al-Bukhari 8 — Islam is built on five pillars including fasting رمضان.
10. Shawwal
Begins with Eid ul Fitr and includes six highly rewarded voluntary fasts.
Hadith: Sahih Muslim 1164 — Six fasts of Shawwal equal fasting the whole year.
11. Dhul Qadah
A sacred month traditionally associated with peace and Hajj preparation.
Hadith: Sahih al-Bukhari 3197 — It is among the sacred months.
12. Dhul Hijjah
The month of Hajj and Eid ul Adha. The first ten days are among the most blessed days.
Hadith: Sahih al-Bukhari 969 — No good deeds are more beloved than those done in the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah.
