Suzuki Pakistan has launched its new compact SUV Fronix in Karachi, signaling its active comeback in the local auto market once again. Buyers and auto experts present at the event termed the new model as a ‘new beginning’ for the company, especially at a time when the weak sales of the imported Vatiara were a major challenge for the company.
Fronix is Suzuki’s first locally assembled SUV in Pakistan, which is part of the company’s new strategy to provide better value, easy spare parts and low-cost repairs through local assembly. According to the company, the difficulties were compounded by the high import cost of the Vitara and the shortage of parts, so it was decided to present the new vehicle as a locally assembled model.
Experts at the event said that the success of the Fronix will depend more on the price, but for now, its initial look has created a lot of interest among consumers. There are already strong competitors in the market like the Honda HRV, Toyota Cross and Kia Stonic, but the Fronix ’s feature list makes it a prominent option.
This vehicle includes a 1.5-litre engine, 103 horsepower, a 4-speed auto gearbox, a 9-inch infotainment system, 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, vehicle stability assist, hill hold control and many other modern technologies.
Space, practicality and up to 605 litres of luggage capacity are also making it attractive for families.
Now all eyes are on Suzuki’s price announcement, which will decide the future of the Fronix .
