Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has released the details of payments and banking networks for the second quarter of FY 25-2024. According to the statement, the number of commercial and microfinance bank branches increased by 1249 in this period, after which the total network across the country reached 19,910. The number of ATM machines also saw an increase of 349, taking their total to 19,519. Similarly, the POS (Point of Sale) network increased by 19,422 machines, after which the network reached 151,646 machines. In the second quarter, large financial payments stood at Rs 16,32,600 billion, while retail payments reached Rs 2.14 billion.
