Karachi – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) had an outstanding year in calendar year 2024 as the country’s flagship index, the KSE-100, gained 84% at record levels. The index rose by 52,675 points to its record high of 115,126 points by the end of the year.
During the year, the KSE-100 Index demonstrated great performance, hitting the maximum high of 117039 and minimum low of 59191.
The trading volume in the stock markets in 2024 was also smile-eliciting and stood at 139 billion shares, and the total value of the transactions stood at PKR 5,464 billion. The market capitalization also surged to PKR 5,432 billion, from the previous market capitalization of PKR 14,495 billion.
This landmark performance encapsulates not only the strength of the PSX but also looks at how it has been possible for the market to attract significant investment even in the face of adversity.
