Islamabad: The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) has reported a steep rise in the prices of electricity, gas, and essential commodities during July 2025, putting added pressure on household budgets across the country.
According to the report, gas prices jumped by 22.91%, while electricity bills surged by 14.18%. Meanwhile, the cost of sugar rose 6.11%, leading to a noticeable spike in sweet items as well.
