Global crude oil prices have seen an unprecedented increase after attacks on Saudi Arabia-linked oil tankers in the Red Sea, which has created new concerns in the global energy market. According to experts, concerns about global supply being affected due to rising tensions in the Middle East have made investors and importers cautious.

According to global trade data, the price of Brent crude oil crossed the $100 per barrel mark after an increase of about seven percent, while Marban crude reached $108 per barrel. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil also continued to trade at $92 per barrel with a significant increase.

Experts associated with the energy sector say that if tensions in the Red Sea and the Middle East do not subside, global crude oil prices may increase further. Such a situation will not only affect global inflation but will also create additional financial pressure for economies that rely on imported fuel.

This situation is also important for Pakistan as the country relies heavily on imported crude oil and petroleum products to meet its energy needs. In the event of a continuous increase in global prices, pressure may increase on local prices of petrol and diesel in the future; however, the final decision will be taken, taking into account government policy, taxes, exchange rates and future global trends.

According to economic analysts, the future direction of the global energy market will depend on the security situation in the region, the restoration of sea trade routes and possible decisions of major oil-producing countries. Investors are keeping a close eye on the global situation during this time.
