Possible diplomatic progress and new hopes for an agreement between the US and Iran have had an immediate impact on crude oil prices in the global energy market. Investors have expressed the expectation that if there is a positive development between the two countries, the supply of crude oil in the global market may increase, due to which prices have been recorded significantly lower.

During international trading activities, the price of Brent crude oil fell to around $91 per barrel, while the US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was seen trading at $84.43 per barrel. According to experts, the more than five percent drop in oil prices is a result of expectations that Iran’s potential additional exports could improve global supply.

Economic analysts say that the decline in global crude oil prices could prove to be a positive development for energy-importing countries, especially Pakistan. If this trend continues in the global market, there are possibilities of a reduction in the cost of imported fuel, a reduction in pressure on the trade deficit and a positive impact on petroleum product prices in the future.

On the other hand, experts have warned that the global oil market may still be affected by factors such as geopolitical situations, the outcome of the US-Iran talks, OPEC+ policies and global supply and demand. That is why global investors will keep a close eye on the diplomatic and economic developments in the next few days. Oil-importing countries, including Pakistan, are also calling these changes important in the context of their energy and economic strategies.
