Action will be taken if performance deteriorates; learn lessons from Swat tragedy: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif

Islamabad: Addressing the federal cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that strict disciplinary action will be taken against any ministry if its performance deteriorates. He said that no negligence will be tolerated.

He praised the performance of the NDMA and said that the institution has now become a living institution, and a detailed meeting was held with NDMA officials regarding the recent rains. He also praised the preparations and measures of the Federal Interior Minister, provincial governments, and the Azad Kashmir administration.

The Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow and grief over the tragic incident in Swat and said that we should learn lessons from such incidents. He said that effective measures and advance preparation are indispensable to avoid such incidents in the future.

PM Shahbaz Sharif announced that as soon as the recent rains end, a joint meeting will be called with all four provinces to formulate a future strategy.

On this occasion, he also mentioned the Pakistan Stock Exchange and said that reaching the highest level of the index is a clear sign of investor confidence. The government is using all resources for economic stability in the country.
