Islamabad: An important meeting was held between President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Presidential Palace in which a detailed discussion was held on the challenges facing the country and the national strategy.
Federal ministers Khawaja Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Azam Nazir Tarar, Mohsin Naqvi and Rana Sanaullah were also present in the meeting. According to sources, the focus of the discussion was on the recent political uncertainty, economic pressures and growing security concerns.
The sources said that the meeting also reviewed the measures taken against terrorism and the internal law and order situation in detail, while the Prime Minister briefed the President on the government’s economic policies and reform initiatives.
The two leaders reiterated their commitment to work together for national development, institutional harmony and continuity of democracy. The meeting took place at a time when the country is going through a sensitive phase both internally and externally, and the unity of the leadership is sending a message of stability.
