ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir today asserted that India’s “Operation Sindoor” was a complete military failure, attributing the collapse to a lack of preparedness and strategic foresight on India’s part. He emphasized that New Delhi’s “illogical explanations” for this debacle only highlight its military weaknesses.
Speaking to officers attending the ‘National Security and War Course’ at the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad, Field Marshal Munir addressed contemporary security challenges and Pakistan’s war strategy. He underscored that military victories are not solely dependent on weaponry or rhetoric, but rather on robust institutions, unwavering professionalism, and collective national resolve.
The Army Chief also dismissed India’s aspirations to be a net security provider in the region. He stated that numerous regional nations are weary of India’s “aggression and narrow-mindedness,” contrasting this with Pakistan’s consistent preference for peace, mutual respect, and principled diplomacy.
Field Marshal Munir concluded his address by issuing a clear warning: “Any attempt to harm Pakistan’s sovereignty or integrity will be responded to promptly, effectively, and befittingly.”
