Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, while addressing the trilateral meeting, said that Pakistan is fortunate to have sincere and true friends like Turkey and Azerbaijan, who have stood by Pakistan in every difficult time. He congratulated Azerbaijan on its Independence Day and said that this meeting marks the beginning of a new era of our friendship and mutual cooperation.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan are connected by common religion, history, culture, and values, and this relationship is not just diplomatic but also a relationship of hearts. He made it clear that it is regrettable that India has adopted the path of aggression based on the Pahalgam incident. India failed to provide evidence and also rejected Pakistan’s offer of an impartial investigation.
The Prime Minister said that water aggression by India is a dangerous trend that cannot be accepted under any circumstances. Water is the lifeline of Pakistan’s 240 million people, and India’s use of it as a weapon is highly condemnable.
He praised the Pakistan Armed Forces and the professional leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying that the Pakistani forces gave a courageous response to Indian aggression. The Prime Minister stressed that Pakistan wants peace and wants to resolve all issues, including Kashmir and water, through dialogue.
