Pakistan-Iran high-level meeting at the Presidential House, discussions on efforts to reduce tension in the region

Islamabad: Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian met President Asif Ali Zardari at the Presidential Palace during his visit to Pakistan, in which detailed discussions were held on bilateral relations, regional stability and promotion of diplomatic efforts.

The two leaders agreed that in the current circumstances, it is the need of the hour to intensify diplomatic efforts to save the region from further conflicts.

The Iranian President expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s open stance against Israeli aggression and said that Pakistan has always prioritized peace and dialogue.

President Zardari also thanked Iran for its support for the Kashmiri people and its strong stance on Indian atrocities. He said that Pakistan values the religious, cultural and historical ties with Iran and is committed to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
