Islamabad: Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan has strongly rejected the allegations and provocative statements made by India against Pakistan, saying that these statements are baseless, irresponsible and an attempt to create instability in the region.
In a press briefing, the spokesperson clarified that India targeted Pakistan without investigating the Pahalgam attack, and Pakistan successfully targeted Indian targets while responding to Indian aggression.
The Foreign Office pointed out that India’s rejection of Pakistan’s offer of a transparent and independent investigation makes its intentions clear. The spokesperson said that Indian claims regarding Operation Mahadev have no validity in Pakistan’s eyes.
He said that India is violating the principles of justice by becoming judge, jury and executioner itself. The spokesperson called the Indian Home Minister’s statements a lie.
The spokesperson further said that the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty is not only a violation of international law but also a reflection of India’s war ambitions.
The Foreign Office once again said that Pakistan rejects the Indian narrative of nuclear blackmail and makes it clear that Pakistan has thwarted Indian ambitions through conventional capabilities.
At the end of the statement, Pakistan reiterated its position that peace, stability and meaningful dialogue in the region are Pakistan’s priorities, but sovereignty and respect for the UN Charter are the first conditions.
