PML-N seeks share of power in Sindh

Lahore: Details of a meeting between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the PPP on power sharing in Punjab have emerged, where the PML-N demanded a political partnership in Sindh.

The committee comprises PML-N’s Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and Maryam Aurangzeb, and PPP’s Ali Haider Gilani and Hassan Murtaza.
According to sources, the PPP reiterated its demand for equal distribution of development funds in Punjab, saying that its candidates who received more than 20,000 votes should also be provided with funds. In addition, the PPP lamented the non-fulfilment of promises for the provision of key posts and posting of officers in government departments.
During the meeting, the PPP also expressed its reservations over the new Local Act Bill in Punjab, after which the two parties agreed to form a sub-committee to resolve the issues.
The PML-N delegation, reacting to the PPP’s reservations, said it was critical of the government on the one hand and was also seeking equitable development funds on the other. The PML-N offered the PPP that its grievances could be addressed if it joined the Punjab cabinet
