Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced that the benefit of the reduction in oil prices will be spent on development projects.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, while making important announcements while addressing a meeting of the federal cabinet, said that the financial benefits from the fall in oil prices in the global market would be spent on the development projects of Balochistan instead of directly transferring them to the people. He said that with this amount, important projects like the Kutchi Canal and the Quetta-Karachi M-25 highway will be completed, which will play a key role in the economic development of the province.

The Prime Minister said the government has already reduced electricity prices by Rs 7.5 per unit, which will not only benefit the common citizens but also the country’s economy. Describing the move as a “big challenge,” he said it was an important step towards economic stability. The Prime Minister also announced several new projects to improve the communication system in the country. He said that the federal government will construct motorways M6 and M9, while a modern motorway will be built from Sukkur to Hyderabad, which will not only reduce travel time. It will also contribute to regional development.

The Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow over the killing of eight Pakistani nationals in Iran and said that the amount of condemnation of this incident is less. He said the Iranian government has assured that the killers will be arrested and punished. Pakistan is in constant touch with the Iranian authorities. to conduct a full investigation of the incident. During the meeting, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also prayed for the good health of President Asif Ali Zardari. He hoped that President Zardari would soon recover and resume his service to the country and the nation.

The prime minister’s announcements reflect the government’s priorities, which include building infrastructure, relief in the energy sector and the protection of Pakistani citizens abroad.
