Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif urges timely preparation to deal with cloudburst

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said during his visit to the National Emergency Operations Center that the country is facing an extraordinary situation due to cloudburst, and there is a possibility of it in the future as well. He stressed that all the relevant institutions should prepare now so that any possible emergency situation can be dealt with effectively.

During the visit, the Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing on monsoon rains, flood risks, and government measures. He said that heavy rains occurred in Punjab and northern areas, including Chakwal, Lahore, and Islamabad, and due to appropriate advance measures, the losses remained minimal.

The Prime Minister appreciated the preparedness of the provincial governments and expressed regret over the loss of life and property. The briefing also informed us that the recent rainfall was 30 to 40 percent more than usual, while more rain is predicted in Punjab and Azad Kashmir in the next 7 days.
