Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that after Pakistan’s economic recovery, it is time to take the economy towards sustainable development, and for this, it is imperative that the business community be involved in the consultative process.

He said this during a meeting with prominent figures from the industrial and commercial sector in Islamabad, where detailed discussions were held on the economy, budget, exports, and tax system. The Prime Minister indicated that consultations with the business community will continue every month and said that self-sufficiency will be achieved by utilizing local resources for national development. The participants expressed satisfaction with the government’s economic policies, the success of the IMF agreement, and the provision of business facilities in the budget.

The meeting was informed that the digitalization of the FBR, a transparent system at ports, and a new ecosystem of the IT sector will prove to be game changers for the country’s development.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that future consultative sessions will be as productive as the current meeting and that the government and the private sector will work together to put Pakistan on the path to economic independence.
