Pakistan rejects Indian PM’s baseless allegations, calls on international community to take notice

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly rejected the recent baseless, provocative, and irresponsible allegations by the Indian Prime Minister and urged the international community to take serious note of India’s hateful narrative and behavior.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said during the weekly media briefing that India’s false allegations and military claims against Pakistan are a clear violation of the UN Charter and international laws. The spokesperson clarified that Pakistan is an effective and consistent partner in counter-terrorism at the global level, and Indian efforts to link Pakistan with terrorism are contrary to facts and misleading.

He said that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be interpreted as weakness; Pakistan is fully capable of protecting its sovereignty, and any aggression will be responded to befittingly.

According to the Foreign Office, the Kashmir issue is the root cause of tension in the region, and India targets Pakistan to divert attention from the atrocities on Kashmiris. The spokesperson said that India should reconsider its policy of closing the Kartarpur Corridor so that Sikh pilgrims enjoy the right to religious freedom.

Furthermore, the spokesperson said that the ceasefire between Pakistan and India is continuing effectively, and contacts between the two armies have been restored through DGMOs. On this occasion, mention was also made of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s recent visit to China, in which regional security and cooperation were discussed.
