PTI’s non-participation in the national security meeting: Strong criticism of the government

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has refused to attend a meeting of the National Security Committee, drawing sharp criticism from the government. PTI leader Salman Akram Raja said that the party’s political committee has decided that the party will not attend the meeting unless it is allowed to meet Imran Khan.

The government has called the PTI’s decision irresponsible. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that it was not in the interest of the country to politicize important issues of national security. He said that at this time, the country needs unity and solidarity, and all political parties should work together.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur attended the meeting, as he said it was necessary to attend the meeting in view of the increasing incidents of terrorism in the province.
