Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a forecast of thunderstorms and dusty winds in most districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from May 27 to May 31 and has issued an alert to district administrations and relevant agencies.
According to a spokesperson for PDMA Punjab, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiat, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, and other districts. The aim of these rains is to reduce the intensity of the heat, which is welcome in the context of the recent heat wave.
According to DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia, on the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, alerts have been issued in all districts to deal with possible emergencies. All institutions, including the departments of education, health, local government, irrigation, and livestock, have been instructed to implement the emergency plan.
Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel in bad weather, avoid going to open places during thunderstorms, and stay in safe places.
