Mr. Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, insisted on the constructive importance of words in politics and said that politics require communication. In a statement recorded in Lahore he pointed out the authority of the assembly; he said it is the strength of the people which makes a particular assembly powerful and he also appreciated the attempts towards strengthening the parliament.
He spoke highly of the performances of the standing committees, and guaranteed that the opposition would not have their rights violated from the beginning. The Speaker emphasized the fact that in its work the assembly focused on the fact that the opposition should have a chance to deliver its concerns as well as the government should receive the option for further actions. He also noted that the recent changes in rules and regulations are a major achievement, all of which were unanimously adopted.
Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan expressed that in the assembly session, at least 12 significant laws have been made effective in the past 8 months that would change society. Even if they (people) did not like it, they said the majority of the laws were enacted with the view of benefiting the public.
He said that crimes and corruption cannot be part of a political right and emphasized protesters should always be calm. The politics that we are currently in is word and dialogue politics, so the speaker insisted on the continuity of the dialogue to address the problem.
