Admission and fee relief for flood-affected students in Punjab

On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the construction and repair work of flood-affected roads has been started immediately across the province. Under the supervision of Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, teams of the Construction and Communication Department are active in the affected districts and the restoration process is underway on an emergency basis. The Chief Minister has ordered that the repair of flood-affected roads be completed as soon as possible to provide convenience to the public.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has also approved a special education package for students from flood-affected areas. According to the spokesperson, the aim of this package is to reduce the financial burden of the affected families and continue the education of the youth in all circumstances.

Under the package, one semester fee has been waived for students of Muzaffargarh, Multan, Lodhran, Vehari, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Chiniot and Kasur, while the admission fee of BS first-year students has also been waived. Along with this, the last date for registration in universities of the affected districts has been extended by 20 days and the period for submitting applications for Honhar Scholarship has also been extended by one month.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said in her message that despite the devastation caused by the floods, the education of students will not be affected. She assured that all possible facilities will be provided to the affected families and the provincial government is working at all levels for the rehabilitation of the victims.
