Air quality begins to improve with modern sensors and zigzag technology

The latest report of the Smog Forecasting Center has revealed a significant improvement in air quality in Punjab from November 1 to 14 this year. According to the report, 14-day images obtained from satellites indicate much cleaner air compared to last year, which is proof of the success of ongoing smog control measures in the province.

The report states that the intensity of smog was very high in several districts during the same days last year, while an overall clear decrease has been noted in the situation this year. According to officials, the process of controlling smog is a continuous struggle, and better results are coming out every year.

It has been further stated that the reduction in smoke from kilns is also a major reason for this improvement. After the adoption of zigzag technology in the province, the emission from kilns has decreased, which has directly benefited the air quality.

The Smog Forecasting Center said that the installation of modern sensors and establishment of new stations to monitor pollution will pave the way for improvement in the coming years. In the past, it was difficult to obtain accurate data due to a lack of proper equipment, but now the situation is different.

The report clarifies that strict monitoring of vehicle and industrial emissions is underway; however, it is unrealistic to expect complete results in a few months compared to climatic changes. The improvement process will be gradual, but the direction is right.
