Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal, through his poetry, awakened the consciousness of freedom and self-reliance among the Muslims of the subcontinent and his thoughts provided guidance to the nation in determining its destination.
She said that Iqbal’s message played the role of a beacon of light in helping the caravan of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah reach its destination.
The Chief Minister said that Allama Iqbal gave a thought-provoking message to the youth in his poetry and taught the nation self-control, justice, democracy and high moral values.
Maryam Nawaz further said that practicing the philosophy of self-discipline is actually a true way of expressing love for Allama Iqbal, and this way of thinking can be helpful in making Pakistan a modern, welfare and moderate state.
She said that today, the nation should renew its commitment to adopting Iqbal’s thoughts in practical life, because Iqbal’s concept of Pakistan is the basis of national unity and development.
