Banks to remain closed on First July

HOLIDAY

Islamabad: The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that all banks, development finance institutions, and microfinance banks will remain closed for public transactions on July 1, 2025 (Tuesday), due to the annual accounts closing of the new financial year; however, bank employees will attend as usual.
This decision will be applicable only to the banking sector and will not cause any holiday or disruption to the public, private offices, or businesses.
The State Bank has clarified that this holiday is “technical” in nature and should not be taken as a public holiday.

This measure is necessary to organize banking accounts and ledgers at the end of the financial year so that financial planning for the new year can be done easily.
