Lahore: During a training camp in Mansoora, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, voiced significant concern regarding the state of the city following recent rains. He highlighted the apparent disconnect between the allocation of substantial funds for drain cleaning and the persistently poor conditions on the ground.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman described Karachi as “Mini Pakistan” but lamented the deeply entrenched corruption that has plagued the city for four decades. He asserted that a corruption rate as high as 80% has systematically deprived citizens of essential services.
He sharply criticized government institutions and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership, stating that those responsible for appointing “fake mayors” would ultimately be held accountable by the public.
Furthermore, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman noted the rapid increase in environmental changes and warned that the government’s lack of action is exacerbating urban challenges.
