Dialogue, Not Force: Maulana Fazlur Rehman Urges Peaceful Resolution for Kurram

MARDAN: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam F Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman has underlined that military actions are not a workable solution for the continuous problems in Kurram. Speaking with the media in Mardan, he underlined the need to approach the matter diplomatically and with an inclusive attitude.

Alleging great corruption and the predominance of commission-based methods, Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s present level of government. He underlined that depending on force to resolve problems shows stupidity and urged the authorities to include political leaders using conventional jirga systems.

If the establishment asked for his opinion on the topic, the JUI-F leader said he was open to working with them. Emphasising the need for group efforts to solve Kurram’s problems, he supported a peaceful and inclusive attitude.

Commenting on the stalled negotiations between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Maulana Fazlur Rehman noted the lack of progress but remained hopeful about the possibility of communication to help to heal divisions. He pointed out that even if arguments never go away, better attitudes brought about by talks would be a benefit.
