Talking to journalists in Lahore, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman expressed serious reservations about the judicial and governmental system in the country. He said that if any law is implemented other than the Quran and Sunnah, it cannot be accepted, but there are no independent courts to challenge such laws because the institutions are making decisions through their own system.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that when governments are established on the basis of Form 47, such a democracy is of no benefit to the people. He said that the political system cannot be strong without transparency.
He further said that if restrictions are imposed on the judiciary, people will be forced to create alternative forums because they do not get access to justice.
The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami complained that when the doors of justice are closed and the voice of the people is not allowed to go forward, then where will the people go with their complaints? According to him, for the strengthening of the democratic process, it is necessary to make the voice of the people heard instead of suppressing it.
