A new study has revealed that extreme heat (Heatwave) is affecting human life much faster than smoking or drinking.

Researchers from the University of Hong Kong in China analyzed medical data of about 25,000 people over a period of 14 years. The study also took into account the temperature and heat intensity in the people’s residential areas.

The results of the study were published in Nature Climate Change, which clarified the difference between biological aging and chronological aging. The study revealed that heatwaves accelerated the biological aging process of people, meaning that the speed of impact on the organs of the human body increased.

Experts say that these results draw attention to the increasing impact of climate change on human health. Research shows that rising heat not only affects daily life but also accelerates the human aging process, which can increase global health problems.
