Heavy Rains Across the Country, Public Issued Alert to Avoid Unnecessary Travel

Islamabad: In view of the ongoing heavy rains in different parts of the country and possible dangers, the government has issued instructions to the public to avoid unnecessary travel, while all rescue and emergency agencies have been put on high alert.

According to the Meteorological Department, more heavy rains have been predicted across the country during the monsoon season, which poses risks such as traffic accidents, landslides, falling trees and flooding in rivers and streams.

The alert issued has said that tourists should avoid unnecessary travel and visiting mountainous and tourist areas. It has also been directed not to go near rivers, streams and dangerous areas and to keep a close eye on the weather conditions.

The Meteorological Department and rescue agencies have also directed the public to take precautionary measures and contact the relevant agencies immediately in case of any emergency.
