ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its role in promoting global peace and security. In an address to ambassadors in Islamabad, he described Pakistan’s election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council as an honor and expressed gratitude to the UN member states for their support.
Ishaq Dar emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to upholding the principles of the UN Charter. He pointed out the severe human rights situation in Gaza and reiterated that the issue of Kashmir must be resolved in line with UN resolutions.
The Foreign Minister noted that the world is currently facing numerous challenges and is at a critical crossroads. He stressed that Pakistan, as a responsible nation, will continue to play an active role in addressing these global issues.
Additionally, Ishaq Dar assured that Pakistan will actively contribute to solving the issues on the UN Security Council’s agenda, taking a constructive role in resolving international conflicts and challenges.
