Kite flying restricted near Lahore airport for flight safety

In a major move to ensure the safety of air travel around Lahore airport, the government has decided to impose a complete ban on kite flying in nearby settlements, under which Section 144 will be implemented.
According to airport officials, kites and their strings can prove dangerous for flights, as they can obstruct the path of planes during take-off and landing and cause accidents. In view of this concern, the Pakistan Airport Authority has taken immediate safety measures and issued strict instructions to the relevant agencies.
Sources say that the ban will apply to various blocks of DHA, Canal Bank and other residential areas around the airport. Before this decision, consultations continued for several weeks between the provincial and district administrations, after which this step was taken by giving top priority to flight safety.
The administration has made it clear that no kind of kite flying or related activities will be tolerated during the ban. Violators will be immediately arrested, fined and legal action will be taken against them.
Expert opinion:
According to aviation and safety experts, such activities are already banned around most major airports in the world because even a minor obstacle can pose a major threat to flights. They say that this decision is a timely and necessary step for the safety of passengers and aircraft.
