Lahore Development Phase Two begins; Maryam Nawaz orders strict implementation of standards

A detailed briefing was given on the features of Lahore Development Plan Phase Two in a special meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. A phased monthly work plan was presented in the meeting to make every neighbourhood of the city bright, clean and modern.

According to officials, a new era of development will begin in Lahore through Phase Two. The project includes the complete upgrading of 6,284 streets. Of these, 5,798 streets fall under the jurisdiction of the Lahore Municipal Corporation and 486 streets under the jurisdiction of WASA, which will be completed according to modern standards by June 30 next year.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that there will be no compromise on quality in the development of Lahore and all phases of Phase II should be completed within the stipulated time.

She said that every part of the city will be saved from decay and a better and dignified residential environment will be provided to the citizens.
