Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s strong criticism of the government and foreign policy

Speaking at a function in Mardan, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed serious concerns over the country’s politics, foreign policy and economic direction. He said that Pakistan’s Afghan policy could not establish any lasting friendship even in 78 years, which shows that both countries will have to review each other’s attitudes.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that peace in the region is not possible until armed groups abandon the path of war. According to him, war has always led to destruction, and a political solution is the way forward.

Talking about the country’s politics, he said that “the constitution has been turned into a toy” and the people are still deprived of their basic rights. According to him, the current economic situation is proof that Pakistan is no longer the country that the people had pinned their hopes on.

Regarding Palestine, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that “Trump’s hands are still dripping with the blood of the Palestinians, and our rulers are talking about giving him the Nobel Peace Prize.”

He also strongly objected to the 27th Constitutional Amendment and claimed that “this amendment was passed with a fake majority, and support was obtained by buying members.” Maulana Fazlur Rehman added that in the past, the PTI chairman was called the Western agenda, but the fact is that the current government is fulfilling Western desires.
