Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statements on China at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting have exposed India’s dual policy. Modi, who had threatened China in the past, now seems to be grateful to President Xi Jinping.

According to experts, a clear contradiction has emerged in the foreign and defense strategies of the Indian government. When Modi was in the opposition, he used to take a tough stance against China in every rally and asked whether a country that beheads Indian soldiers should have a protocol with it? But now the same Prime Minister is busy praising China.

Earlier, after the failure of Operation Sindoor at the hands of Pakistan, Indian Deputy Army Chief Lieutenant General Rahul Singh had accused China of helping Pakistan defeat India by providing intelligence and weapons.

Analysts say that this contradiction in the policies of the Modi government is only the result of political interests. On the one hand, blaming China, and on the other hand, thanking at the diplomatic level, clarifies India’s hypocritical strategy.
