NADRA’s data monitoring app introduced, citizens will now be able to monitor the use of their identity data themselves

NADRA NEWS

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a modern mobile app to ensure the protection and transparency of citizens’ identity data, through which citizens will be able to directly monitor the use of their personal information for the first time.
According to NADRA officials, this app has been developed in accordance with the requirements of the digital age so that the public has complete control and trust over the data associated with their National Identity Card. Thanks to this facility, users will be able to find out which institution used their data, when and for what purpose.
A detailed history section has been added to the app where a complete record of data verification will be available. It will clearly list the name of the government or private institution, date, time and nature of the verification, which will enable immediate identification of any unauthorized or suspicious activity.
NADRA says that in the past, incidents of misuse of identity information and illegal verification have caused problems for citizens, but the new app will provide an effective check and balance system that will help prevent such incidents.
According to the agency, the data has been secured through modern cyber security technology to discourage crimes like hacking, fraud and identity theft. Experts are calling it a major step towards promoting digital governance in Pakistan.
