Narrative on Crypto, Enemy Agenda: Atta Tarar’s Reaction to Miftah Ismail

Islamabad: Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has criticized the recent statements of former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail regarding cryptocurrency, saying that they are reinforcing the narrative of the enemy country India.

Talking to the media in Islamabad, Atta Tarar said that “Pakistan’s economy is on the path of development, which may not be digested by some circles, and that is why they are making accusations without research.”

He claimed that Pakistan is the only country related to crypto that has developed a clear mechanism, a crypto council has been established, and laws have also been introduced for it. “Our enemies are raising questions on this framework, and to say that this system is suspicious is a hostile agenda,” Atta Tarar said.

The Information Minister also reacted to the news reports about Ishaq Dar and clarified that “he was wrongly declared as a member of the Sugar Advisory Board; the reality is the opposite.”

He added that the government is making serious efforts for the release of Aafia Siddiqui, and more serious diplomatic and legal steps are being taken than by any previous government.
