According to security sources, the Pakistani delegation presented its clear and final stand openly in the important meeting between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban in Istanbul. Pakistan gave a blunt message that support for terrorists from Afghan soil will not be accepted under any circumstances.
The Pakistani delegation said that to eliminate terrorism, not just statements but credible and concrete steps are necessary. Pakistani officials said that the Taliban government will have to fulfill its responsibility for the peace and stability of the region.
According to sources, the arguments presented by the Afghan Taliban on this occasion were not in line with the ground realities. The situation gave the impression that the Taliban are pursuing an agenda that is neither beneficial for Afghanistan nor for the peace of Pakistan and the region.
The Pakistani delegation gave a clear message to the Afghan side that it is necessary to control the sedition of the Khawarij and the sedition of India and transparent and verifiable measures must be shown in this regard. Pakistan warned that if the Taliban government does not accept this principled demand, Pakistan reserves the right to take all possible steps to protect its national security.
The talks are being hosted by Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin. Yesterday, Pakistan made suggestions to the Taliban, in response to which the Afghan delegation presented its position today, however, Pakistan immediately put its response before the Taliban. Pakistan says that further progress will depend on the positive behavior of the Afghan Taliban.
