Pakistan Economy News

Remittance figures in Pakistan have raised new hopes for economic recovery, with remittances reaching $3.6 billion in December 2025.

According to Advisor to the Finance Minister Khurram Shahzad, this volume is about 17 percent higher than December 2024 and 13 percent higher than November 2025. He said that the total remittances in the first half of the fiscal year 2026 have reached $19.7 billion, which is a significant increase compared to the previous year.

Khurram Shahzad expected that if the same pace continues, the total remittances in the current fiscal year will exceed $41 billion, which will be an important record in the country’s history.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked overseas Pakistanis and said that the 16.5 percent increase in remittances is proof that overseas Pakistanis have faith in the government’s policies.

He said that overseas Pakistanis are the backbone of the country’s economy and their sacrifices are playing a key role in Pakistan’s development.
