Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that temporary measures are not enough to deal with the water crisis in the country, but a permanent and comprehensive strategy is urgently needed.

Addressing a seminar on water resource conservation in Islamabad, he said that our goal is not point scoring but finding solutions to real problems so that the people can be shown the right direction.

He said that there is not a shortage of experts in Pakistan but a lack of integrity due to which problems are increasing instead of being solved. According to Hafiz Naeem, governments have ignored public interest projects and have not taken practical steps.

He added that in 2017, Pakistan started getting loans for early warning systems, but unfortunately, no effective system was established in this regard. According to him, those who did not install this system should be held responsible.

Hafiz Naeem stressed that coming up with suggestions and permanent solutions to avoid water crisis is the biggest need of the hour. He said that even in the most difficult circumstances, the nation has defeated the enemy, now collective insight and integrity are required to overcome a crisis like water.
